The Filipino community witnessed a grand celebration of music, dance, and art at the recently held ‘OFIE-M Goes OPM’ anniversary special, organised by the Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement (OFIE-M) at the ICONO View Hotel.

More than 200 Filipinos took part in this inaugural event. This time, OFIEM paid tribute to the Original Pinoy Music (OPM) to highlight the incredible Filipino talents in Qatar.

OFIEM expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors, performers, representatives from the Philippine Embassy and the Department of Migrant Workers, OFIE-M Officers and Board of Directors, volunteers and the energetic audience.

The event formally kicked off as hosts Marlene Cruz-Flores and Ian Mark Gaya introduced OFIE-M. It was followed by the opening remarks of the organisation’s President Ferlita Young. She also led the ceremonial cutting of the cake.

The evening show highlighted an electrifying dance performance by Beats and Bytes. Then, three exceptional performers stepped into the spotlight as Maestro Dexter De Lara Tumang flaunted his keyboard skills. Maniza Elle, Kristine Chee, and Marthylda Jameel Flores captivated the audience with their singing performances.

The evening took an artistic turn with a presentation of artworks by Filipino Abstract Artist Rommel Lopena. Dinner was served, followed by an open mic session. Among those who took the stage were Atty. Daisy Garcia Tingzon and OFIE-M President Young.

Catre Gonzaga also performed with the event production director Rommel Asuncion as he played the keyboard with their rendition of some OPM hits.

The Mang Hatan’s Project, a musical ensemble of student musicians, initiated the second segment of the event. The 3-Sec Warning band also showcased their talent on stage. The energy soared with RJ Andi’s OPM Medley as RJ Codi joined her to sing a Visayan pop hit.

Chockz Valdez presented his original compositions. Nanay ni Juan also performed with own brand of music. BLNC BLVD capped off the evening show with an epic musical performance.

Following the breathtaking performances, OFIEM VP-Internal Lhou Tabisora with all other officers and advisers awarded certificates to all the outstanding performers.

The event concluded with a closing remark by OFIE-M VP-External Romeo Manaois, who reiterated the power of unity and culture among the Filipinos in Qatar.
