The Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani will arrive in Doha today after a successful tour to several nations and after the historic speech at the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Besides the official welcome ceremony at Hamad International Airport, HH the Emir will receive a grand welcome by citizens and expatriates of Qatar.
People will offer their 'maghrib' prayer at the Corniche today and will receive the Emir as he arrives there, to express their solidarity with him.
People have launched hashtags '#Magrib prayer on Corniche' and '#Qatar receiving Tamim' on Twitter to express their loyalty to HH the Emir.
The twitterati have expressed their joy at the return of HH the Emir, who successfully countered the allegations made by the Saudi-led bloc that has imposed an unjust siege on Qatar.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti inaugurated the hashtag by tweeting,"On Sunday Maghrib prayer at the Corniche to welcome the leader of the house."
"This reception will be a testimony to the unity and loyalty of the citizens and residents of Qatar to HH the Emir," a citizen wrote on Twitter.
HH the Emir, who mentioned both citizens and expatriates in his UN speech, said he was proud of the support the people have extended to the leadership in the wake of the unjust siege.
"We, the people of Qatar, will meet tomorrow at the Corniche to offer Maghrib prayer and receive HH the Emir," Khalifa bin Hamad al Atiyyah tweeted.
Tamim al Thani, another Twitter user, said,"Qatar will receive tomorrow its leader, captain of the ship and builder of its glories."
"By the grace of God the great Qatari people and the loyal residents will be present, and happiness will be everywhere when our leader Tamim arrives," Salem al Hajri wrote.
A Qatari lady, Amna, said:"After a victory speech at the United Nations, we received the leader."
Badr bin Talal al-Rasheed said:"The leader who preserves the dignity of his country and his citizens is welcomed with affection and love, but the one who does the opposite is hiding behind glass against bullets."
