Mohammad al Sheeb, Executive Director of the Qatar Swimming Association (QSA), said that the preparations are in full swing to host FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2017 at the Hamad Aquatic Centre on October 4 and 5 and fans may book their tickets online.
The event is one of the most important tournaments under the FINA aegis as it attracts some of the best swimmers from all over the world.
Sheeb reaffirmed that the competition pool for the World Cup would be delivered to the QSA on October 2 for the training sessions.

Sheeb said:"The Hamad Aquatic Center will be ready to host the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup and will bring together swimming fans and guests. The event will be officiated by 34 FINA and QSA referees," he added.
The Hamad Aquatic Centre, built in 2006, has hosted major events including 2006 Asian Games Aquatics competition, the 2009 FINA Diving World Series, the 2011 Arab Games, the FINA World Cups since 2012 in addition to the FINA World Championships in 2014.

QOA launches 'Modern Trends' workshop
The Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) opened its productive workshop titled"Modern Trends" for organising sports events in Al Gharafa on Sunday.
The five-day workshop has brought together 30 male and female trainees from different sport institutions inside the country.
On the opening day, Saif al Nuaimi, the QOA Executive Director, opened the session and welcomed the workshop's international lecturer Bassam Abdullah Qamber, the Director of Planning and Performance Measurement Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery.
The workshop aims to define the key concepts like planning and management required to manage the sports events successfully.

Qatar players to play in Futures tournaments
The Qatari tennis team will participate in three Futures tournaments to be staged in Hammamet, Tunisia in October. The team will be represented by Jabor Nouh, Mousa Shanan, Abdullah Shanan and Mubarak Shanan.
The Qatari team players have started their preparations for the three events at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha in order to be ready for the new challenge.
