Infant powdered formulas produced by US-based healthcare company Abbott that are available in the local market are safe for consumption, the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday.
The ministry said the recall had been issued based on an international notification that pointed to potential contamination of some batches of these products with salmonella and cronobacter bacteria.

Infant powdered formulas produced by US-based healthcare company Abbott that are available in the local market are safe for consumption, the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday.
Some batches of Abbott’s formula milk products (Similac Human Milk Fortifier, Elecare and Elecare JR) were recalled last month on suspicion of bacterial contamination.
The ministry on Sunday said the laboratory results of the recalled samples showed that they are safe and conforms to the approved standard specifications.The ministry said the recall had been issued based on an international notification that pointed to potential contamination of some batches of these products with salmonella and cronobacter bacteria.
