Tribune News NetworkDohaNorthwesterly wind that is predicted to sweep over most areas of Qatar from Wednesday afternoon will kick up dust, restrict visibility and bring down the heat by a few notches. The dusty conditions, riding in on Northwesterly wind gusts topping 25 knots — with gusts up to 40 knots — will last until the beginning of next week, the Qatar Meteorology Department said on Sunday.Visibility is likely to drop below 2 kilometres especially in open areas. The period will see minimum temperatures hovering between 13 and 18°C and maximum temperatures oscillating between 21 and 33°C across the country. QMD said the apparent temperatures are expected to be less than that. Off shore, the weather conditions will cause waves to rise as high as 14 feet, promoting QMD to issue marine warnings.“The Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be cautious, and for the camp owners to take the necessary precautions, avoid marine activities as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts,” an official statement said.
