DOHA: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed with several regional ministers the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and Israel and ways to halt escalation, on Sunday.

The prime minister held phone calls with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman HE Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi,Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt HE Sameh Shoukry, andMinister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia HH Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud.

During the calls, the Qatari premierexpressed Qatar's firm stance in condemning all forms of targeting civilians. He said that killing innocents, especially women and children, as well as practising collective punishment is unacceptable under any pretext.

The prime minister also stressed the need to open humanitarian corridors to ensure that relief and aid reach the Palestinian brothers who are under bombardment, especially in light of the deteriorating conditions in the Gaza Strip. While underliningthe need to coordinate regional and international efforts to stop the aggression against Gaza and work hard toward achieving a just and comprehensive peace, the prime ministerwarned of the danger of attempts to force-displace Palestinian people from Gaza, stressing the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the fraternal Palestinian people, and their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
