Qatar Development Bank (QDB), through the support of its export wing Tasdeer, participated at Anuga trade fair held in Cologne in Germany.
Tipped as one of the"world's largest and most important trade fairs" for retail food trade and catering market, the Anuga trade fair, was held from October 7 to 11.
The QDB's pavilion exhibited both well-established local organisations as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Qatar's local food industry.
The companies present at Qatar's national pavilion included Qatar Food Factories Co, IN-Q Factory & Co., Arab Qatari Agricultural Production Co, Asak Group Inc (Al Qaseem Dates, Raha Bakers, Azba Farm and Munah Foods Factory), Qatar Meat Production Co, Agrico, Ocean Fish, Albina Snacks, Dandy Company Limited, Gulfood Production, Qatar Flour Mills Co, Al Sulaiteen Agricultural & Industrial Complex (SAIC), and Kaafe.
This year, the Qatari companies participating in Anuga 2017 displayed a wide variety of their best products, including dairy items, dates, flour-based items, bakery goods, confectionary products, seafood, poultry, processed foods as well as natural juices.
Speaking during the five-day exhibition, Executive Director of Export Development & Promotion Agency Tasdeer, Hassan Khalifa al Mansoori, said:"Qatar Development Bank regularly spearheads the promotion of Qatari products and exporters in international exhibitions with the aim of opening new markets for the nation.
"During the past year, Qatari export products have increasingly found home in Europe's marketplaces, having participated in a series of exhibitions. Similarly, our participation in Anuga 2017 exhibition aims to further strengthen the commercial trade relations between Qatar and Germany."
