As part of its ongoing campaign ‘With Education, I Can’, Qatar Charity (QC) received about 150 new school bags filled with essential school supplies and stationery from students of Qatar Academy – Msheireb. These bags will be distributed to orphans and children from low-income families within the State of Qatar.

The students of Qatar Academy - Msheireb, represented by the Islamic Education Department, donated the school bags with the aim of enhancing community solidarity and supporting the children in achieving better academic performance.

Lama Al-Kalash, assistant director of Qatar Academy - Msheireb, said, “This initiative, now in its second year, is part of our commitment to instilling Islamic values, including empathy, cooperation and a love for helping others, in the hearts of their students. The goal is to nurture a sense of community and encourage students to lend a helping hand to fellow students in need of school bags and supplies.”

Al-Kalash also highlighted that the initiative was carried out in collaboration with parents, fostering a sense of competition among students in the realm of charitable activities.

Farid Khalil Al-Siddiqi, the head of the Local Projects Department at QC, extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the students of Qatar Academy - Msheireb and those responsible for the initiative, acknowledging their contribution of school bags and supplies. He emphasised that these items will be distributed to children from low-income backgrounds. Furthermore, Al-Siddiqi highlighted the launch of QC’s campaign ‘With Education, I Can’, which aims to provide tools, expenses, and education fees for eligible students both within and outside the State of Qatar.

He expressed his optimism that other schools would take inspiration from such initiatives to assist orphans and children from economically disadvantaged families. Notably, QC has already commenced covering tuition fees for orphaned students and recently distributed school bags with stationery to students from the Syrian community in Qatar. They also collaborated with Al-Rayyan Municipality to support students from Al-Salam schools.

The participating students from Qatar Academy - Msheireb expressed their happiness and satisfaction with the initiative. Fifth-grade student Ali Abdullah Al-Muhannadi stated, “Through this initiative, we empathised with students from low-income families. Participating in the initiative gives us a sense of joy and happiness because we are helping others.”
