Qatar's Joint Special Forces launched a series of training exercises with the US Special Forces on Saturday, as part of the continuing military cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Commander of the Joint Special Forces HE Brigadier General Hamad Abdullah al Fetais al Marri and the Military Attache at the US Embassy Col David Keesy attended the inauguration ceremony.
"The joint training exercises for 2017-18 are a continuation of the exercise plan implemented in the beginning of the year. This confirms the depth of cooperation and defence coordination between the two sides, in addition to the keenness of the Ministry of Defence to keep abreast of the modern trends in the military field of all sisterly and friendly countries," the Directorate of Moral Guidance said.
The launch of a full training year with the US special forces is evidence of the strong US-Qatari relations, especially in defence, the directorate added. (QNA)
