A giant balloon parade that was supposed to take place along Doha Corniche on Tuesday evening has been cancelled due to bad weather.
The unfavourable weather, which had pushed the start of the hour-long parade from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Tuesday, continued late into the evening, forcing the organisers, Qatar Tourism, to cancel the event for the day.
The giant balloon parade was a highlight of Qatar Tourism's three-day Eid Festival that will be held along Doha Corniche from Tuesday to Thursday between 4 pm and 11 pm each day.
The parade is expected to take place on Wednesday and Thursday, between 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Besides the parade, the Eid Festival organised by Qatar Tourism will feature daily concerts, marching band, fireworks displays, carnival games and food stalls.
