Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 as a way to promote the use of this language in India. Hindi, being widely spoken in India, has strung together innumerable linguistic, cultural, and religious groups that inhabit the vast country. It has added a unique flavour to India's unity and integrity.
The staff and students of DPS-Modern Indian School, commemorated Hindi Diwas on October 12 in the school auditorium. A special programme was arranged by the Hindi Department, under the guidance of Suhaila.
The celebrations began with a prayer invoking the blessings of the Almighty. Principal Asna Nafees released 'Card Vimochan' to announce the commencement of the celebrations.
A PowerPoint presentation showcasing various activities like card-making, and poem-writing was also made.
Aakanksha of Class VA delivered a speech on the importance of celebrating Hindi Diwas. The students of Classes VIII, IX and X mesmerised the audience with their Qawwali (a form of Sufi music) presentation. The students of the Junior wing enacted a Hasya natak (humorous play) which enthralled the audience. The celebrations concluded with the singing of the Indian national anthem.
