Ideal Indian School (IIS) celebrated its 39th Annual Day recently with a vibrant and colourful event organised in an atmosphere of festive cheer. The event showcased magnificent cultural performances by students from the Kindergarten, Junior, Girls, and Boys sections.

The event was made memorable by the distinguished presence of School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P as the chief guest, and eminent guests of honour including First Secretary of the Embassy of India Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, President of Indian Cultural Centre Manikantan A P, Vice President of ICBF Deepak Shetty, Head of Cultural Events at ICC Suma Mahesh Gowda, Member of International Toastmasters Sushmita Pattanaik, CEO of Malayalam 98.6 FM Anwar Hussain, and, Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb apart from the section heads.

Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb presented the Annual Report, emphasising the school’s commitment to setting high standards in academics, sports, events, discipline, leadership, management systems, and more.A minute of silence was observed in honour of those who lost their lives in the war in Palestine.

At Ideal Indian School, the Annual Day is an occasion to honour students who have excelled in CBSE examinations during the year. Gold and silver medals were awarded to school rank holders and individual subject toppers in the classes 10 and 12 examinations held in April-March 2023. The school staff, who completed 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of dedicated service to the school, were also felicitated on the occasion. In recognition of their dedication, commitment, and contributions to the school, the school staff were also honoured with excellence certificates.

The evening drew a large audience of students and parents. The highlight was the grand cultural display titled ‘An Odyssey to Aspirations’, featuring around 2,000 students from all sections. It captivated the audience with a diverse array of performances, including international, folk, western, fusion, and contemporary dances, songs, musical renditions, and multilingual dramas.

The gathering was welcomed by Head Girl Mary Stenicka Fernando, while Head Boy Ahmed Mohammed Faisal extended the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Girls’ Section Vice Principal Dr. Nazima Bi, Headmistress of the KG Section Shirley De Sales, and Media Coordinator Anvar. The formal programme was hosted by Tanu Madhvi, Sharon, and Masrath.
