The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) President Alejandro Dominguez confirmed his full support for the State of Qatar in hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This came during his meeting on Sunday with Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al Thani.
The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen relations between QFA and CONMEBOL.
Alejandro Dominguez expressed his pleasure to visit Qatar, which is part of future plans for the development of international football. The CONMEBOL President pointed out that the relationship between QFA and CONMEBOL is proceeding according to the visions through which both parties seek to develop football at all levels.
Dominguez said that the results of this cooperation will be visible in the near future at all CONMEBOL associations.
The President of CONMEBOL also briefed on Qatar's latest preparations for the World Cup, where he witnessed the models that simulate the stadiums, facilities and grounds of the 2022 World Cup and listened to a detailed explanation of all the projects related to the World Cup and various initiatives launched by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
During his visit to the Aspire Academy, the President of CONMEBOL expressed his admiration for this giant edifice, which is one of the most prominent academies and sports centers in the world.
