DOHA: The Meteorology Department has issued a cautionary forecast for the weather in Doha, warning residents and maritime interests of potential thundershowers accompanied by strong winds and reduced visibility.

According to the department's daily weather report, the inshore weather until 6 pm on Monday is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy with intermittent rain that may turn thundery, accompanied by blowing dust. The report emphasizes the likelihood of thundery rain associated with strong winds and poor horizontal visibility during this period.

Offshore conditions are also anticipated to be cloudy to partly cloudy with scattered thundery rain at times. The report warns of expected thundery rain offshore, coupled with strong winds, poor horizontal visibility, and high sea conditions.

Inshore wind is predicted to be mainly southeasterly at 6 to 16 knots, gusting up to 30 knots during thundery rain. Offshore, a combination of southeasterly to southwesterly winds is expected at 8 to 18 knots, gusting to 30 knots during thundery rain.

Visibility inshore is forecasted to be reduced to 4 to 8 kilometers or less during thundery rains, and offshore visibility is expected to be similarly affected.

Sea conditions inshore are projected to range from 2 to 4 feet, rising to 5 feet during thundery rain. Offshore, sea state is expected to be between 3 to 3 feet, rising to 10 feet during thundery rain.

Residents and those with maritime interests are advised to exercise caution, stay updated on weather alerts, and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during the anticipated adverse weather conditions.
