The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) organised a symposium on ‘Airport Preparedness for the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (ACDM)’ in cooperation with the Regional Office of the Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the Middle East.
The event was attended by 74 participants from seven countries: Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Iran, from three organisations - the Regional Office for the Middle East of ICAO, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation and the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Associations.
The symposium aims to focus on the importance of communication between airport operators, ground handlers, airlines and air traffic controllers to increase cooperation and unifying effort to enhance air safety and improve the performance of what is known as the ACDM cooperative decision-making mechanism and processes at the airport, which includes sharing information and enhancing awareness among all parties in a way that contributes to finding and adopting a quick and effective solution to operational problems.
The symposium also addresses ways to improve the efficiency and flexibility of airport operational processes and focuses on mechanisms to raise the level of coordination and cooperation between aviation authorities, as well as enhance the level of workers in the field of airports to overcome all challenges in various fields of civil aviation.
