ANKARA: Deputy Prime Minister andMinister of State for Defense Affairs HE DrKhalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met with Turkish National Defense Minister HE Ya§ar Guler, at the headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Defense in Ankara, on Thursday.
On the occasion, an official reception ceremony was held for Dr Al Attiyah.
The visit came in light of exchanged visits and strong, historical relations between the two brotherly countries. Moreover, this year marks the 50th year of establishing diplomatic relations between the two sides.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed topics of mutual interest, on top of which was military cooperation and ways to enhance and develop it.The meeting, also, touched on the latest developments in the region, particularly the Israeli war on Gaza.
The Turkish National Defense Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the role of Qatar in reaching a temporary ceasefire and allowing humanitarian and medical aid to enter the strip. The Turkish minister hosted a lunch gala in honour of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Qatari Military Attache to the Republic of Turkey Maj Gen Mohammad bin Rashid AI Shahwani, Commander of Al-Zoo Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah Air College Maj Gen(Pilot) Salem bin Abdullah AI Dosari, and several senior officials of both sides.
