Aiming at reinforcing the significance and importance of the Constitution of India, and marking a tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar, who played a pivotal role in drafting the Indian Constitution, the MES Indian School observed the Constitution Day of India on November 26. Morning assemblies were conducted in all sections of the school to mark the occasion.
The assembly started with an inspirational speech on the life and career of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. Students had dressed up as Dr Ambedkar and delivered the Constitution Day message. They held placards featuring members of the Constituent Assembly and provided a brief introduction about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jaipal Singh, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sarojini Naidu, K M Munshi, and H C Mukherjee.
The preamble of the Constitution was read, and students and teachers took an oath to adhere to the principles of the Constitution of India. Students spoke eloquently about the formation of the Constitution and the significance of the Constitution of India. A special quiz was also conducted for the students.
The assembly ended with the display of the fundamental rights and key features of the Indian Constitution by the students of Grade VIII. Hameeda Kadar, principal of MES Indian School, congratulated the winners and lauded the initiatives of teachers in organizing various activities and engaging the students.
