Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani chaired, alongside the Permanent Representatives of the United Kingdom and Canada, a joint meeting of the Group of Friends of Afghanistan. In his briefing to the meeting, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Independent Assessment of Afghanistan Feridun Sinirlioglu commended the effective role and mediation efforts of Qatar to ensure security and peace in Afghanistan.
The permanent representative of Qatar to the United Nations met with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan Dafallah Alhaj Ali Osman in New York.
During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and the latest developments and urgent humanitarian issues in Sudan.
