Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary-General Jassim Rashid al Buenain visited the Qatar Boxing and Wrestling Federation (QBWF) headquarters on Tuesday .
The secretary-general met QBWF President Yousef al Kazem. Also present on the occasion were Khaleel Ibrahim al Jaber, the Director of QOC's Sport Affairs Department, Khaled al Mass, QBWF Secretary-General and other senior QBWF officials.
The QOC secretary-general received a brief presentation on the QBWF's vision, goals, road-map and the participation in the future championships.
QBWF President Kazem explained the ongoing efforts focused on producing talented boxers and wresters who will represent Qatar at international championships.
The visit of Buenain to the QBWF is a part of the QOC's new strategy to build strong relationships and encourage the associations to work harder for international accolades.
Golfers off to Tunisia for Arab championship
Qatar's golf team left here on Tuesday to participate in the 18th Arab Championships (youth and juniors), scheduled to take place from November 16 to 19 in Tunisia.
The Qatari team is led by Fahad nasser al Nuaimi, Qatar Golf Association (QGA) Secretary-General.
On the sidelines of the championship, the QGA executive members will hold a preparatory meeting for the upcoming QGA General Assembly meeting scheduled on November 30 in Jordan.
2018 Doha FIG world championships
The organising committee continued to hold its regular meetings to review preparations for the prestigious 2018 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha.
Ali al Hitmi, the QGF President and championship Executive Director, met other members of the organising committee.
The meeting focused on the arrangements which are required to maximising the organisational level so that Doha can deliver an excellent and exceptional world championships. The QGF president appreciated the Qatari leadership for its concrete support for sport development in the country.
