The event will feature a series of lectures focusing on various aspects of ancient Mauritanian culture, along with displays of traditional Mauritanian attire and other artifacts.

The first day’s programme will include a presentation on the ambassadors of Chinguetti culture, poetry readings, and an introductory tour of the accompanying exhibition. On the second day, there will be presentations on topics such as ‘Chinguetti, the Treasure of Language and Manuscripts’ and ‘Mauritanian Literature from Poetry to Prose’.

The third day will include a lecture on ‘Chinguetti Culture: Its Origins and Characteristics’ and a seminar titled ‘Others’ Perception of Chinguetti’. The day will conclude with a tribute to Mauritanian writers in Qatar.

Katara has previously showcased the culture and literature of Mauritania through various events, including a recent literary evening hosted by the Katara Library for Arabic Novel featuring Mauritanian novelist Ahmed Sidi.
