MES Indian School celebrated Qatar National Day on December 14, with traditional fervour. The day’s programme commenced with the morning radio broadcast comprising speeches and programmes centered on the themes of peace and serenity. Subsequently, an art and craft exhibition and a mega collage event unfolded at the school’s conference hall, wherein students showcased their artistic creations themed on Qatar and its steadfast commitment to peace and harmony.

The programme focused on tranquility, reflecting Qatar’s unwavering commitment to equanimity and composure. Classrooms were decorated with displays of the Qatar National Day theme. Students stood in a formation displaying slogans for global peace, with the impactful collages and artistic displays vividly portraying their profound respect for Qatar.

A dedicated wall provided students an opportunity to contribute messages and quotes aligned with the theme of peace and harmony. Students attired in white, and in a coordinated effort presented a symbolic formation of a dove representing peace and serenity. Bordering the peace-symbol there was a human chain thematically formed by the Scouts and Guides, Cubs, and Bulbuls. The students released white balloons symbolising the nation’s commitment to peace.

A food mela (fair), a mehendi corner, art and craft exhibition etc. were held to raise funds to be contributed to the Palestinian Relief Fund. The tiny tots were shown videos in the classroom about the development of Qatar through the years. A "Guess the National Symbol of Qatar” game was also conducted in the classroom for them.The day also witnessed various literary activities for students such as speaking five sentences about ‘My love for Qatar’, a composition titled ‘Values and culture of my country - Qatar’, poetic compositions etc.

Harshan V, section coordinator, Anver K and Sumitha Abdul Nassar, conveners and other school officials ensured the seamless execution of the event.
