Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed al Thani and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Shariatmadari discussed ways to boost economic and trade relations between the two countries.
This came during the official visit by Sheikh Ahmed to Tehran at the invitation of the Iranian Minister of Commerce.
Sheikh Ahmed said the Qatari delegation met a group of businessmen and executive heads of Iranian companies to discuss issues of mutual interest, increase bilateral trade exchange and discuss trade opportunities in both countries.
The meeting agreed on the need to pay attention to the development and promotion of trade between the two countries and overcome all obstacles that prevent it, while taking advantage of the trade opportunities available in both the countries.
A tripartite meeting was also held between Sheikh Ahmed, his Iranian counterpart Shariatmadari and Turkish economy minister Nihad Zeybekci in Tehran.
They discussed joint cooperation between the three countries in economic and trade fields and the obstacles to inter-trade between them.
Sheikh Ahmed also met Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
They reviewed the outcome of the Qatari delegation's visit to Tehran and discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade fields.
