DOHA: Qatar has received two cruise ships ‘MS Rivera’ and ‘Mein Schiff 2’ with 3,745 tourists on board and a crew of 1,734, who will later be joined by 774 tourists from Doha on board the ship ‘Mein Schiff 2’ as part of a new tour that will lead it to several destinations in the region.
This is the first trip of MS Rivera to the shores of Qatar, while Mein Schiff 2 is making the eighth trip.
MS Riviera, which is operated by Oceania Cruises, owned by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), flies the flag of the Marshall Islands, while Mein Schiff 2 flies the flag of Malta and is operated by the German company TUI Cruises.
MS Rivera is 251 meters long and can accommodate more than 1,250 passengers.
Mein Schiff 2is 315.7 meters long and can accommodate up to 2,894 passengers.
The two ships contain a variety of restaurants, cafes and various entertainment means.
