A total of 16 Indian community teams from Qatar are participating in a football tournament that kicked off at Doha University Ground.

Being held in solidarity with the Asian Cup football to be held in Qatar, the tournament is being presented by Aster Healthcare.

Chaliyar Cup All India Sevens Football Tournament Season 3, is being organised by Chaliyar Doha. The whistle for the opening match of the tournament will be sounded at 3pm. The semi-finals and final will be played at Doha Stadium on December 29.

The tournament champions will be awarded QR3,023 and trophy, the first runner-up will receive QR2023 and trophy and the second runner-up will be get QR1,023 and trophy sponsored by Cabtech Trading and Contracting.

Orbit FC will face Oryx FC Kasargod in the opening match. The following matches are City Exchange FC vs. Viking FC Alkhor, Advance Plus FC vs. Eagles FC, Namiz International Newton FC vs. Al Anees FC, Qatar Friends Mampad vs. Waqas AFC, Manjappada FC vs. Brothers FC, QKJKFC Mates Qatar vs. Naseem United, and PharmaCare FC vs. Beach Boys FC Trivandrum.

Chaliyar Cup Chairman Zameel Abdul Vahid Chaliyam, General Convener CT Siddiq Cheruvadi, Group Medical Director-Aster Qatar Dr Nasser Moopan, Marine Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Company MD Shoukathali T.A.J, Tournament Finance Manager Jabir Beypore, Media Wing Chairman Ahamed Niyas Moorkanad and Tournament Registration Wing Chairman Ratheesh Kakov participated in the press meet held at Aster Healthcare conference hall.
