Agricultural investor Hassad Food, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), has become the silver sponsor of the Made in Qatar Exhibition 2017, Qatar Chamber (QC) said in a statement on Monday.
The exhibition, being organised by QC in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry, is scheduled to be held between December 14 and 17 at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Centre.
With the participation of more than 320 Qatari companies and 138 families engaged in the cottage industry, the exhibition aims to promote locally-manufactured products.
QC Director General Saleh bin Hamad al Sharqi and Hassad Foods' CEO Mohamed bin Badr al Sadah signed the sponsorship agreement on Monday.
"We are privileged to sponsor and take part in the fifth edition of the Made in Qatar Exhibition. This exhibition has successfully managed to showcase a wide selection of local-made products by providing a great platform for exchanging experiences and best practices," Sadah said.
He exhorted the people in Qatar to support the local industry by visiting the expo, which he termed as a platform to learn about the latest products and local investments in Qatar.
Sharqi said QC was keen on extending its support to the local industry and expressed his gratitude for the Hassad Food for supporting the expo.
