The grand finale of the third Aster Chaliyar Cup All India Sevens football tournament, organised by Chaliyar Doha in solidarity with Asian Cup, will be held at Doha Stadium on Friday, December 29.
The semi-finals will also be played at Doha Stadium at 5pm on the same day. The pre-quarterfinals and quarter-finals of the tournament, which featured 16 teams, were held at the Doha University (CNAQ) ground on Friday, December 22.
City Exchange FC, Qatar Friends Mampad and Namiz International Newton FC entered the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, City Exchange FC will face Namiz International Newton FC while in the second semi-final, Qatar Friends Mampad will play against the winner of the fourth quarter-final match between QKJKFC Mates Qatar and Beach Boys FC Trivandrum which will be held at Doha University ground (CNAQ) on 28th December.
Chaliyar Doha President Zameel Abdul Vahid and Unnimoyin Keezhuparamb inaugurated the tournament. Chaliyar Cup General Convenor C. T. Siddiq Cheruvadi and Treasurer Jabir Beypore spoke on the occasion. Aster Healthcare Business Development Head Sajith Pillai, QFA representative Abdul Azeez Edachery and Radio Suno RJ Ashtami were the chief guests.
Siddique Vazhakkad, Ratheesh Kakkov, Raghunath Feroke, Muhammed Layis Kuniyil, Abdul Aziz Cheruvannur, Sabikhussalam Edavanna, Ahamed Niyas Moorkanad, Abi Chungathara, Fairoz Nilambur, Jaisal Vazhakkad, Unnikrishnan Vazhayoor, Mujeeb Cheekode, Abdurahman Mampad, Akshay Kadalundi, Anees Eranjimavu, Fuad Abdusamad, Haneefa Chaliyam, Shameer Cheekode and Ashraf Mampad were the notable among those present.
