DOHA: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has officially declared a year-end closing holiday for financial institutions, including the Qatar Central Bank itself, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, and the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority.
According to the announcement made on the QCB's social media channels, the decision is under the Council of Ministers resolution no 6for the year 2008. As per this directive, Monday, January 1, 2024, has been designated as an official holiday in celebration of the year-end closing.
The declared holiday encompasses various financial entities, emphasizing its significance for the entire financial sector in Qatar.
The Qatar Central Bank further clarified that the specified institutions will resume their regular operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
