People who have taken two doses of the covishield vaccine in India are "eligible for quarantine exemption" in Qatar, the Indian Embassy in Doha said on Friday.
"Qatar authorities have confirmed that those who have obtained Covishield Vaccine in India are eligible for quarantine exemption at the time of entry into Qatar. Passenger should have obtained 2 dose, completed 14 days after the 2nd dose and carry the Vaccine certificate," the embassy said in a tweet.
Ministry of Public Health had taken the prescribed number of doses of vaccines by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson outside Qatar will be exempt from quarantine requirements.
Covidshield is the name of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine being manufactured locally by the Serum Institute of India.

People who have been vaccinated abroad and met Qatar's conditions must also test negative for COVID-19 to be eligible for the exemption.
They can either take the test at one of Qatar's ports of entry or by submit a certificate authenticating that they are virus-free by taking the test at one of the vaccination centres accredited by the Ministry of Public Health abroad, provided that the certificate validity should not exceed 72 hours upon arrival.
The Ehteraz health status will remain green for all persons who meet the above-mentioned criteria, and therefore will be exempt from hotel and home quarantine upon entering Qatar.
If the specified period of 14 days has not passed, citizens and residents returning to Qatar will be subject to home quarantine for seven days or until the remaining of the 14 days has passed, whichever is shorter.
