The extraordinary General Assembly of Al Rayyan Club elected HE Sheikh Ali bin Saud bin Ahmed al Thani as president of the club during the by-elections held on Tuesday after the quorum was completed with the attendance of 25 members, two-thirds of the members.
Ali Salem Afifa was elected as the club’s vice president.
The new board of directors of Al Rayan also decided to appoint Ali Ateeq al Abdullah as CEO of the club.
During the meeting, members of the General Assembly thanked the previous administration for their efforts and stressed the need to pay attention to the appointment of administrative cadres to attend all games. The members also stressed the need to attach great importance to Al Rayyan basketball teams.
Sheikh Ali also appreciated former club president Sheikh Saud bin Khalid al Thani for his tenure as president. He added that he hopes in the coming year, the board will be able to put Al Rayyan on the right track and to please the Al Rayyan fans. He added that the support of the members of the General Assembly is very important for the board at the moment.
