Qatar, represented by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), has sent a shipment of urgent medical aid to Somalia to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The QFFD said the shipment weighing 10 tonnes contains medical equipment and supplies such as masks and personal protective equipment for medical personnel. The shipment was transported by the Amiri Air Force. QFFD Director General Khalifa bin Jassim al Kuwari stressed that Qatar is standing by its brothers and friends amid this crisis to help them combat the spread of this pandemic, which is a threat to the whole world.
