YAOUNDE: At least one person was killed and 50 others were arrested during anti-government protests in Cameroon, an opposition party said on Tuesday.
Several demonstrators were wounded when the protests, which took places in several cities across the West African nation, turned violent, Christopher Ndong, the vice president of opposition party Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM), told DPA.
Among the arrested were several top CRM leaders, according to Ndong.
Police have not responded to requests for comment. (AFP)
