AS the world celebrates the International Coffee Day on Thursday, coffee joints in Qatar have joined the celebrations with an array of offerings.
Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Operation Manager of Walter’s Coffee in Doha Aulia Malikha said, “Walters Coffee has made people in Qatar embrace the coffee culture. We make sure that we give the best to our customers. We give people the right amount of coffee and give them a platform to come and socialise over a cup of coffee.”
According to her, the brand is special as they are very selective of the coffee they serve to their customers. “Our coffee doesn’t give headache, if you don’t drink. We use different kinds of coffee beans from Colombia and Ethiopia.”
Malikah added that Walter’s Coffee has contributed to the hospitality industry in Qatar in a big way and besides being a coffee shop, it is a roastery where they roast coffee beans. Currently, there are three branches and three more are in the pipeline.
Bo’S Coffee Operations Manager Ankit Kalra said, “We strive to create the best coffee culture by expanding our customer service. We practice ‘panunumpa’, a gesture that stands for service which comes from the heart. Our best coffee beans have earned appreciation of people of different nationalities in Qatar.”
According to him, the shop celebrates and supports a variety of coffee beans from the Philippines, including Sagada (sweet & nutty), Benguet (well balanced), Matutum (spicy & berry like ), Mt. Apo (earthy with low acidity) and Kitanglad (light and floral).
He said, “We also have other blends, such as Barista, Espresso and Columbian decaf. Ninety percent of our beans are sourced locally from the Philippines. Each flavour profile has a distinct taste and body that truly epitomises the rich diversity of its geographic origins.”
Talking about how the brand has contributed to the hospitality industry in Qatar, he said, “Bo’S Coffee is ‘your homegrown brew’, highlighting Filipino talent and artistry by practicing excellent customer service through the well-known Filipino virtues of hospitality, sincerity and respect.”
