Paris: The Ocean Viking aid ship has rescued 374 migrants from distress in the Mediterranean Sea off Libya within the past 48 hours. “Of the 374 survivors onboard [the Ocean Viking], there are 21 babies and 35 children. 131 unaccompanied minors. 2 pregnant women,” the ship’s French operating organization SOS Mediterranee tweeted on Saturday. The ship had taken 106 people on board on Friday evening, SOS Mediterranee said on Twitter. The people came from Guinea, Sudan and Sierra Leone. The rescue operation is the third mission of the aid ship since Thursday. (dpa)
