Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has delivered in-kind donations to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in support of the vulnerable patients. The donation consisted of wheelchairs, beds and medical equipment.
An official delegation from HMC visited QRCS headquarters, including Dr Soad Saidan Al Hamad, executive manager of Social Service Department at HMC, Abeer Al Hajri, officer at HMC’s Social Service Department, and Mohamed Othman, head of Social Service Section at Hamad General Hospital (HGH).
They were received by Eng. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Malki, CEO of QRCS, Dr Lolwa Hassan Al Obaidli, head of Community Care at the Volunteering and Local Development Division, and Khalida Ali Mostafa, an empowerment specialist at the same division.
“We at HMC Social Service Department would like to thank the board of directors, secretary-general, CEO and staff of QRCS for their constant cooperation,” said Dr Al Hamad.
“They spare no effort in assisting the patients, both individually and collectively.”
She added, “We are here to receive some in-kind donations that include beds and diverse equipment. These will help to meet some of the needs of sick children and older persons. It is a kind support that deserves appreciation.”
Dr Al Obaidli commented, “Social solidarity among institutions and society members is a top priority for the continuity and elevation of work. We work with HMC as partners in social activities, in the best interest of society. We seek bilateral integration, which will ultimately translate into high quality of supplies for service seekers.”
According to her, this is not the first or last time that QRCS has worked with HMC. She promised that such contributions would continue to benefit both the nationals and residents of Qatar, with plans to expand mutual cooperation to involve more institutions in the future. (tnn)
