Qatar Charity (QC) has been praised by Palestinian government agencies for its efforts in supporting the Palestinian people, implementing humanitarian projects for their benefit, and extending a helping hand to them in order to alleviate their suffering and rebuild their lives.
Qatar Charity’s efforts to support Palestinian society were lauded by Louay Al-Madhoun, Commissioner-General of the Ministry of Social Development-Gaza. According to Al-Madhoun, the relief projects and humanitarian aid provided by Qatar Charity to affected and impoverished families over the last three years are the result of strategic cooperation and a genuine partnership between Qatar Charity and the Ministry of Social Development. He also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation, emphasising the importance of its continuation in order to support the steadfastness of Palestinians in Gaza.
Over the last three years, Qatar Charity has implemented 68 relief projects worth nearly $ USD 2.6 million, benefiting over 704,000 people, accounting for 35% of the total population of the Gaza Strip, which has a population of 2 million people. These projects included food, safe drinking water, and shelter for low-income and crisis-affected families.
Qatar Charity recently allocated US$5 million as part of its ‘Help Palestine’ campaign to provide relief aid to those affected and displaced in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. Food packages, health services, personal hygiene kits to prevent the coronavirus, and medical aids and equipment for health centers and hospitals were among the items provided.
Qatar Charity’s field teams are working hard to meet the needs of thousands of families affected by the recent crisis.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity established an office in Palestine in 1996 to provide humanitarian aid and contribute to the improvement of the Palestinian people’s living conditions. Qatar Charity has sponsored over 21,000 people in 16 governorates of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including poor families, orphans, students, and people with special needs.
Qatar Charity has urged philanthropic citizens to contribute to the relief campaign in order to assist as many displaced and affected people as possible in order to meet their urgent humanitarian needs and alleviate their suffering.
Donations can be made through Qatar Charity’s website, app, branches, and collection points throughout the country, as well as by dialing 44667711.
Donations can also be made by texting a message. Please send an SMS with the Palestinian flag symbol to 92632, 92642, and 92023 to donate QAR 50, QAR 100, and QAR 250, respectively.
