The Cabinet has praised His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s speech at the opening session of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, which began on Monday.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, affirmed that HH the Amir’s speech, with its important content and insightful vision, clarified to the world the axes of Qatar’s successful strategy to confront the dangerous repercussions of the COVID-19 and the requirements of moving beyond the pandemic at the global level.
The Cabinet also praised HH the Amir’s speech that outlined the parameters of Qatar’s balanced economic policy during the next phase.
The Cabinet lauded HH the Amir’s invitation to world leaders, especially of the major industrial countries, for more cooperation, sharing of responsibilities and working together for a just and comprehensive distribution of vaccines to confront COVID-19 in a manner that lays the foundations for building an integrated global social and economic system, in line with the goals of sustainable global development, and achieving goodness and stability.
The Cabinet said that the Qatar Economic Forum, under the theme “New Perspectives for Tomorrow”, reaffirms Qatar’s position as a pivotal commercial centre for the business sector and its pioneering role in enriching dialogue on the global economy and addressing the challenges it faces.
The Cabinet also expressed satisfaction for Qatar’s leadership in the Middle East and North Africa region in the Global Peace Index issued by the Institute for Economics and Peace in Australia, where it achieved first place for the 13th consecutive year and 29th in the world. The index shows that Qatar is among the first, safest and secure countries in terms of crime rate out of 163 countries included in the index.
The Cabinet affirmed that this achievement was attained under the wise directives of HH the Amir and thanks to the comprehensive security strategy of the Ministry of Interior and the efforts of its various departments.
