Tel Aviv: More than 6,000 coronavirus infections have been recorded in one day in Israel for the first time in six months.
As the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday, 6,275 cases were recorded on Monday. At the same time, the number of seriously ill patients is approaching the 400 mark: 394 seriously ill Covid-19 patients were treated in Israeli hospitals on Tuesday. The condition of 87 of them was classified as critical.
Some 58 percent of the approximately 9.4 million Israelis are fully vaccinated. Recently, the Ministry of Health had presented figures showing that the effectiveness of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccination used in Israel has declined sharply since the beginning of June. (dpa)
