Qatar’s vaccination programme has achieved a major milestone, with 95 percent of the eligible population (12 years and above) receiving at least one dose of the vaccine.
According to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), a total of 4,515,730 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered till date.
As many as 11,173 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.
With this, the MoPH said, 88.1 percent of the eligible population have received both the doses of the vaccine.
“76.4 percent of the total population have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 82.5 percent of the total population have received at least one dose of the vaccine,” the MoPH said.
“If you are eligible for the COVID-1 9 vaccine but have not yet booked your appointment, act now. Get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family, and support the return to normal life as soon as possible,” the MoPH added.
Meanwhile, Qatar on Sunday recorded 130 new COVID-19 cases — 82 from within the community and 48 among travellers returning from abroad.
Also, 219 people recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 230,668 in the country.
