Sydney Australian authorities have seized an estimated 140 million Australian dollars (almost 104 million US dollars) worth of heroin hidden inside a shipping container sent to Melbourne from Malaysia. The 450-kilogramme haul is the largest shipment ever detected in Australia, the Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force said Saturday in a joint media release.
“Stopping these drugs from reaching our communities has saved lives and reduced drug-associated personal and property crime, loss of productivity, and health care costs,” the statement added.
