Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, expressed condolences to the government and people of the Philippines on Thursday for the victims of Hurricane Ray.
The Foreign Minister also expressed his condolences to the Filipino community in Qatar via his Twitter account.
“Condolences to the #Philippines for the victims of Typhoon Rai, and to the Filipino community in #Qatar, who contributed to the development of the country. We believe in the Philippines’ ability to overcome the effects of the typhoon, and we wish all a speedy recovery,” he tweeted. Earlier in the day, the minister spoke on the phone with HE Teodoro Locsin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines. The call dealt with reviewing bilateral cooperation.
His Excellency expressed Qatar’s solidarity and readiness to provide humanitarian aid to the people of the Philippines during the phone conversation. He also expressed his full confidence in the ability of the Philippine government and people to overcome the effects of Typhoon Haiyan, reiterating Qatar’s support and willingness to assist in this regard.
