Google Cloud, which opened its Center of Excellence in Qatar recently, will train more than 2,000 engineers in Qatar every year to elevate their careers and solve the challenges of the future with the help of digital transformation.
Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the ‘SAP RISE on the Road’, Google Cloud Qatar Country Manager Ghassan Kosta said, “We believe in enabling smarter decisions across an organisation and confidently building and investing in cloud services. Thanks to Google Cloud Services, our customers in Doha can successfully and efficiently manage their SAP workloads while using our infrastructure to deepen insights through statistical data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
Kosta said, “The courses offered at the Center of Excellence to train engineers will be free of cost as part of our commitment to help drive digital transformation and support the continued growth of the technology ecosystem in Qatar.”
As part of the training, he said, participants will be given hands-on training in Google tools and technologies to expand their technology skills.
Kosta also revealed that Google Cloud’s Center of Excellence in Qatar, which also serve as an incubator for high-potential startups and a hub for research to address digital transformation challenges, will shift to imparting in-person training from the current virtual model of training by the end of this year or early next year.
The SAP RISE on the Road event, held in Doha this week with strategic partners Deloitte and Google Cloud and SAP, underscored the impact and importance of cloud computing which has taken precedence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
