Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has won the top award for the comprehensive response demonstrated by the corporation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The award was presented at the conclusion of the 23rd Annual Forum of the Federation held in Cairo.
This year’s forum, which lasted for two days, was held under the theme ‘Launching New Healthcare Strategies’.
The award was received by Ali Abdulla Al Khater, chair of the Supreme Committee for Healthcare Communications, HMC’s chief communications officer and head of HMC’s participating delegation in the forum, on behalf of the corporation.
The award came in recognition of HMC’s excellence in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and providing innovative and world-class care to patients.
In a statement after receiving the award, Khater stated, “Receiving the Elite Hospital Award is a wonderful endorsement of HMC’s continued successes and for its adoption of an innovative approach in providing healthcare services to patients and the commitment of placing high-quality services as a top priority.”
“HMC, which has attained the highest international accreditation for all of its healthcare facilities, would not have achieved this status without the dedication of its management, healthcare professionals and support staff, who save no effort to provide our patients with the best healthcare services possible. This achievement is the result of the continued and relentless efforts exerted towards improving the healthcare services provided to patients,” Khater added.
HMC participated in the 23rd Annual Forum of the Federation where the achievements of the corporation during the past few years and the newly opened state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and medical centres that provide the best healthcare services to people in Qatar have been highlighted.
HMC’s delegation to the forum reviewed the corporation’s strategy in response to COVID-19 pandemic, especially in terms of the fast roll-out of the national vaccination programme which helped Qatar to have one of the lowest COVID-19 mortality rates in the world.
Leaders from healthcare providers across the Arab region took part in the forum where advancements in the field of healthcare and future COVID-19 pandemic post-recovery plans have been addressed.
Along with a large number healthcare providers and international pharmaceutical companies, HMC took part in the exhibition held on the sidelines of the forum.
The exhibition featured the latest advancements in the medical and health domains.
HMC earned the Elite Hospital Award two years ago by the Arab Hospitals Federation as part of the Federation’s Gold Initiative launched to promote and recognise efforts by healthcare organisations during the pandemic.
The award recognised HMC’s successful response across five categories: Public Sector regulatory staff; Leadership and Governance; Safety of Staff, Visitors and Patients; Public Awareness; and Research and Development.
