Qatar Scientific Club, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has announced a slew of activities for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The announced diverse activities for this year include scientific and cultural competitions, specialised workshops, interactive experiments, and arbitration of research competitions.
At the top of the list of scientific club activities in the blessed month of Ramadan is the workshop by Professor Fouad Murad, a member of the jury of the famous Stars of Science programme. A number of public and specialised secondary school students were invited to attend this workshop with the aim of putting them on the path that would open up new horizons and eventually make them scientists and innovators.
The club will also present a programme of scientific competitions to encourage the search for correct information and knowledge and culture that relate to several aspects, from the miraculous aspect of the Holy Qur’an to sustainable development.
Qatari inventors and their role in raising the name of Qatar high in international scientific forums will be among daily questions which the participants will be required to answer before going to the next question. The answers will be collected from Sunday until Thursday and the names of winners will be announced every week from the following Saturday.
Specialised scientific and technological workshops will be presented on various topics, such as the drone technology workshop, the robotics workshop, and the Internet of Things eorkshop.
Since this is the second half of the second semester of the current academic year, the harvest time for schools, and also the blessed month of Ramadan, the final stage of the Researcher 5 competition will be judged. It was organised by the Qatar Scientific Club in cooperation with the Scientific Research Skills Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
This year more than 197 researches from different levels of study are in the competition. The Scientific Club will also participate in judging the third phase of the Sanea competition, held annually in cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Education, the Qatar Scientific Club and Ibtikar for Digital Solutions.
Regarding the Ramadan activity, Sheikh Ali Al-Thani, the Qatar Scientific Club managing director said that the club has been implementing its Ramadan activities in a renewed manner annually and has a unique character due to the specialised nature of the club. “The activities are complementary to the special atmosphere that surrounds this holy month, and we all know that seeking knowledge is an obligation as stated in the noble hadith”
Hamad Al-Saadi, head of the Activities and Events Team, stated that the club, in the blessed month of Ramadan, turns into a beehive that continues to work day and night so that the possible benefit is achieved in this The holy month in all aspects.
