Qatar Sports Club will face Al-Sadd in the final match of His Highness the Emir’s Cup Table Tennis Championship for the 2021-2022 sports season, which will be held at Abdullah Bin Suhaim Hall at Qatar Sports Club on Sunday, while Al-Rayyan will compete with Al-Arabi in the ranking match for the third and fourth places.
Qatar SC qualified for the final match after defeating Al Rayyan (3-1) in the semi-finals, while Al Sadd SC advanced to the final after defeating Al Arabi (3-2) in the semi-finals.
Qatar SC and Al Sadd teams achieved positive results and presented strong levels throughout their journey in the group stage, where Qatar SC topped the first group with 6 points collected from 3 victories, over Al Wakrah (3-0), then on Al Arabi (3-1), and beat Al-Ahly With a score (3-0) at the end of the group stage.. On the other hand, Al Sadd finished the group stage at the top of the second group with eight points collected from 4 consecutive victories over Al Shamal (3-1), then Al Khor (3-0), then Al Rayyan defeated Al Rayyan (3-2), and finally beat Al Gharafa (3-0).
Qatar SC is seeking to win the HH the Emir’s Cup for the fifth time in a row and the sixth in its history. On the other hand, Al Sadd aspires to return to reap the achievements after a long absence, as it won the championship title 4 times previously.
It is worth noting that 9 clubs competed in the Emir’s Table Tennis Cup, which was divided into two groups. The first group consisted of “Qatar Club (the title holder), Al-Arabi Club, Al-Wakra Club, Al-Ahly Club,” while the second group consisted of “Al-Rayyan Club,” Al Sadd Club, Al Gharafa Club, Al Khor Club, and Al Shamal Club.
