Tehran The trial has resumed in Tehran of a German-Iranian facing charges of carrying out terrorist attacks, including the bombing of a mosque in southern Iran, the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported on Tuesday.
Jamshid Sharmahd, 67, is accused of several attacks and of espionage.
He faces the death penalty if convicted.
The prosecution alleges that Sharmahd is the head of a monarchist opposition group that has provided information to foreign intelligence services on the locations of Iranian missiles.
He was arrested in Dubai by the Iranian intelligence services in the summer of 2020, with some sources saying that he was abducted, and has since then been held in Tehran. He previously lived in the United States for years. (dpa)
